DESCRIPTION:
A successful and growing group of restaurants in San Francisco is seeking a driven and dedicated General Manager to lead the team at one of their iconic venues which are known for delivering exceptional dining experiences, unique ambiance, and high standards of service. Each location contributes to a diverse portfolio of culinary offerings and prides themselves on their stellar reputation and commitment to excellence. The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations, from staff management and customer service to financial performance and operational efficiency. We’re seeking a GM with strong leadership qualities, business acumen, and a genuine passion for the restaurant industry. This role is central to maintaining our standards and creating memorable dining experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Team Development: Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team to foster a positive and professional work environment.
- Operational Oversight: Ensure smooth day-to-day operations, including overseeing opening and closing procedures, inventory, and compliance with health and safety standards.
- Financial Management: Drive restaurant profitability through effective budgeting, cost management, and sales growth strategies; analyze financial performance and implement improvements as needed.
- Guest Experience: Champion outstanding customer service, ensuring guests enjoy a memorable dining experience; address and resolve guest concerns or complaints professionally.
- Staff Scheduling and Management: Oversee staff schedules to ensure optimal coverage, balancing efficiency with service quality.
- Vendor and Inventory Management: Coordinate with vendors for quality supply sourcing, control inventory, and reduce waste, optimizing costs while maintaining high standards.
- Event Coordination: Oversee private events or special dining experiences as needed, ensuring seamless execution and guest satisfaction.
- Brand Ambassador: Represent the restaurant within the community, building and maintaining relationships with guests, partners, and industry contacts.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in restaurant management, preferably within upscale or high-volume dining establishments.
- Proven track record of successfully managing a team and overseeing restaurant operations.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, and driving profitability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to motivate and build rapport with staff and guests alike.
- Ability to handle high-stress situations with a calm, professional demeanor.
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems and relevant software for scheduling, budgeting, and inventory.
- Passion for hospitality, an eye for detail, and a commitment to upholding service standards.
